38 injured in Manhattan from High-Rise fire today

East Midtown high-rise fire on Saturday morning left almost 38 trapped in their homes with heavy smoke

Two people are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries

In the blaze, seven people were badly injured

Three fire alarm broke out inside the apartment building at 429 East 52nd St. about 10:33 a.m. on Nov. 5, according to the Fire Department

FDNY marshals are investigating whether the cause of fire was a lithium ion battery left on charge

Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh told that two residents were repairing an e-bike when the device caught fire

The blaze was brought under control by firefighter, at 11:34 a.m. in the  morning

About 20 residents wounded themselves while rushing to the rooftop due to bad smoke condition
